Project Vision

For over 65 years, Hamamatsu Photonics has designed and supplied advanced photoelectric devices worldwide. Its UK office in Welwyn Garden City sought a workspace refresh to support

innovation and collaboration while reflecting the company’s heritage.

The brief was to revitalise the existing office, create new innovation areas, and design a workspace that embodies the company ethos of exploring the unknown.

"We needed the partitioning to disappear — and where it had to be seen, to be precise enough to belong to the building."

— Sebastien Delannoy, Production Director Construction Division – Bouygues

Komfort’s Solution

Brand-Inspired Design: Natural tones, bright red accents, and subtle cultural references express Hamamatsu’s identity.

Defined Work Zones: Contrasting carpet lines, oak desks, and green accents guide circulation while supporting biophilic design for staff wellbeing.

Collaborative Spaces: Partitioned boardroom with acoustic panels and Kross glass ensures quiet, productive meetings. Japanese-themed graphics and 3D signage connect spaces visually and culturally.
